Abstract
We are pleased to present this Supplement to Volume XXXII, No. 1/2026 of the journal Medicine in Evolution, a special collection of scientific contributions dedicated to contemporary advances and ongoing challenges in the field of infectious diseases, prevention strategies, and antimicrobial therapies. This supplement brings together high-impact topics that reflect both the complexity and the dynamic evolution of modern clinical practice.
The thematic focus addresses key areas of current medical interest, including therapeutic progress in HIV infection, with an emphasis on emerging approaches and future perspectives aimed at improving long-term outcomes. In parallel, the management of viral hepatitis is explored through the lens of evolving challenges and innovative therapeutic solutions. Preventive medicine is also prominently highlighted, particularly through the role of vaccination in adult populations, underscoring its critical importance in reducing disease burden and enhancing public health resilience. Furthermore, the supplement examines integrated and synergistic therapeutic strategies in the management of bacterial and fungal infections, reflecting the need for multidisciplinary approaches in the context of increasing antimicrobial resistance.
A dedicated Varia section provides additional original contributions, encompassing a wide range of medical disciplines and perspectives, thereby enriching the scientific value of this issue.
We gratefully acknowledge the leadership of Prof. Univ. Dr. Voichița Lăzureanu, President of the Conference, whose commitment and expertise have been essential in shaping this scientific endeavor.
