General Considerations

Authors must furnish comprehensive experimental details to facilitate the reproducibility of results. MEDICINE IN EVOLUTION mandates the inclusion of all experimental controls and encourages authors to make complete datasets available whenever feasible.

Article: These manuscripts present original research findings. They should detail scientifically valid experiments and contribute significantly to the existing knowledge base. The inclusion of up-to-date and pertinent references is essential. The recommended structure comprises an Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and, Conclusions sections, with a minimum word count of 4000 words.

Review: Reviews provide an extensive examination of the existing literature in a particular field, highlighting gaps or current issues. They should present a critical analysis and provide constructive feedback, along with suggestions for future research directions. Submission of new, unpublished data is discouraged. The structure may include an abstract, keywords, introduction, relevant sections, discussion, conclusions and future directions, with a suggested minimum word count of 4000 words

Case reports provide a comprehensive description of an individual patient's symptoms, signs, diagnosis, treatment (including all interventions) and outcomes. They usually elucidate new or rare conditions, contributing to advances in medical practice or shedding light on diagnostic methodologies. The structure of case reports differs from that of standard articles and includes an abstract, keywords, introduction, detailed case description, discussion and conclusions, with a suggested minimum word count of 2500 words. It is essential to exercise caution when submitting case reports, ensuring that appropriate consent for publication has been obtained from the patients involved.
