Abstract

Aim and objectives: This research aims to provide a summary of the therapeutic benefits of carvacrol in cases of periodontitis. We focused on the anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties of this natural extract, which may help in the treatment of periodontal disease. Material and methods: Plant extracts are getting increasingly popular due to their anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and antioxidant properties, as well as their ability to alter inflammatory response. Results and discussions: An intriguing possibility for treatment of periodontal disease is the effectiveness of carvacrol against gram-negative microorganisms. Conclusions: Carvacrol is a promising anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant agent in the treatment of periodontal disease, based on the provided data.
